For those who don't know the tale, Anna Neill was involved as Registrar [ initial assessor] on the only two complaints against me, Dr Woodman's complaint and the infamous link investigation.
Over the last few years I have been collecting a comparator analysis on cases assessed by Ms Neill. I presented it to the GMC two weeks ago. She resigned the following week. For all those who don't understand comparator analysis, it is evidence of the quality and standards of assessment by the GMC. The last time Dr Varma and I did this, the CRE upheld our concerns and the GMC was forced to collect ethnicity statistics.

a Staff Grade doctor being disciplined because he "cheated during an MSc examination". The GMC kangaroo court does not want to give further details on how that doctor cheated in the examination. I feel that Rita's web-site should feature these despicable and racist cause lists just like the GMC does to show the world what a great job the GMC are doing.

And are you of the view that it is acceptable behaviour for anyone, let alone a doctor, to cheat in an examination? Does that opinion vary with the alleged cheater's ethnicity?
When pawns are moved out from the GMC, it is usually to protect the real bigwigs who are behind them. That is my understanding although it is open to persuasion.

Yes it does. If you must kill a mockingbird, I will explain had that doctor not been from the wrong ethnicity or wrong religion he would not be a Staff Grade would he?
He would be a Specialist Registrar or even better, a Consultant not in a dead end job where he would have to "improve" on his qualifications with an MSc.
Being a Consultant he would not even have to take the stupid MSc examination to compete with people who have hardly passed their primary medical qualification but are the right ethnicity.
No wonder the GMC continues to peddle its overtly racist agenda.
I am not familiar with the case in question, and so cannot say whether this doctor has, has not or might have been discriminated against, on the basis of race or otherwise. It's certainly not impossible, but nor is it a certainty, and, in any event, it's irrelevant.
Cheating is cheating, and is equally dishonest no matter what the ethnicity of the alleged cheater, or the excuse for doing so. The ends never, ever justify the means, all the more so for a member of the medical profession, where trust is paramount.
If I can't trust my doctor to have acquired his or her qualifications with all honesty and probity, I want another doctor. How can they be trusted in matters of life and death if they can't even be above board about their own abilities?
No, this is not about discrimination, racial or otherwise. It is about honesty, pure and simple. If, as appears to be alleged, the doctor in question cheated in an examination, they have been deliberately dishonest.
Their dishonesty and disrespect - for themselves, their fellow MSc students, their patients and the profession as a whole - deserves a tough punishment, and I very much hope it is forthcoming.
Similarly, however, I very much hope that, if this doctor has been discriminated against, those who have done so are equally subjected to appropriate punishment. Discrimination is equally unacceptable behaviour, and most not be tolerated, but it cannot be used as an excuse for dishonesty or to hide poor performance, academic or otherwise.
As for whether or not an MSc is a "stupid" qualification, I suspect that's a matter of perspective based upon one's ability to obtain the degree. I can't see how any opportunity to further one's knowledge can be stupid, or why one should not attempt to "improve" on one's qualifications.
A lack of interest in continuing development, and an apparent need to cheat in order to fake it, do not bode well for this chap, and I begin to wonder whether these traits might not have some relevance to the disparity between his aspirations and his actual achievements, as you describe them - again, I have no knowledge of the case, or the doctor, beyond what you have provided here, and I have nothing but your words upon which to speculate.

Oh not at all. Cheating is ok as is racism as long as it is perpetrated by Prince Harry (http://www.bookrags.com/highbeam/how-i-helped-harry-cheat-art-mistress-20041015-1-hb/). The whole world knows that in the "equal opportunity" NHS apartheid, that Staff Grade is a Staff Grade because of his "performance".

No of course you cannot. Because nobody who was not in a dead end Staff-Grade job would do it, would they? Someone who had already obtained their Consultant post would not have to do it (for example). And I do not know of many (white) Consultants who have had to suffer the ignominy of obtaining an MSc.

What does or does not "bode well" has no relevance to a GMC kangaroo court hearing. So how many NHS Consultants do you know of who believe in continuing their development with MSc s? Or is the MSc only for Staff-Grade doctors?

Well, it is easier to pass judgment and to moralise in an inhumane and racist manner on the plight of a doctor facing a GMC kangaroo court than to try and find out what you are talking about. That is just the stuff of GMC hearings---a group of ignorant idiots who could not have made it through primary school let alone medical school adjudicating on the misdemeanours of doctors whose boots they are not worthy of polishing.

You may think so, but it's still disgraceful and dishonest. It really doesn't matter to me who is alleged to have cheated, or what their social standing or ethnicity may be - cheating is cheating, and is not acceptable. Same goes for racism.

There is no ignominy whatsoever in obtaining a Master's degree. Many, many people work very hard to (honestly) obtain such postgraduate qualifications over many years, and to belittle their efforts and achievements is both childish and insulting. It may not be something that you would wish to achieve, even assuming that you were able to do so, but that does not give you the right to disparage the work of those who can, and do.
As for Staff Grades, I note that you hold them in the same kind of contempt that you reserve for those with both the intellect and drive to further their education. You should consider that at least some Staff Grades are in such posts through choice, because they want to be. They do not see them as "dead end" positions but as appointments of convenience that suit their lifestyle and other commitments, and they do not deserve to be insulted by your sweeping assumptions.

Ahhh. I wondered how long it would be before you accused me of racism for the hideous act of insisting that cheating is dishonest and should not be tolerated. I have, of course, also insisted that punishment should be meted out equally to any dishonest doctor, no matter what their ethnicity, but you seem to feel that some special exemption should apply to dishonesty perpetrated by doctors from ethnic minorities. Or, to put it another way, that white doctors should be punished more severely for the same offence. That sounds to me like a pretty racist attitude you have there.
As unlikely as it may seem, however, we are in complete agreement about the GMC - a bigger group of ignorant idiots you are unlikely to find, and it is certainly true that their combined intellectual capacity is rather lower than that of an unusually stupid whelk.
There is no doubt that it must be annoying and humiliating for an allegedly intelligent doctor to be disciplined by this pathetic rabble, but then, if they were really all that intelligent, they'd have considered the likely outcome of cheating before they did it, wouldn't they? Furthermore, they wouldn't have needed to cheat in the first place, and, if they did, they'd have been smart enough not to get caught (always assuming that they did cheat and were caught, of course).
The GMC's policy on dishonesty is clear cut and widely publicised. They (quite rightly) take a very dim view of it, and are very likely to deal firmly with any doctor who is caught cheating. This cannot have come as any surprise to the doctor involved in this case, and if they did, indeed, cheat in an examination, they have only themselves to blame for facing the GMC.
So, while the GMC may not be fit to polish the boots of a medically qualified person, that person may be having some difficulty in getting those boots on the right feet in this instance.
No matter how many excuses are made, the inescapable facts are that cheating is dishonest, the GMC comes down hard on dishonesty and no smart doctor of any ethnicity could fail to know that. They have made their bed, and now they must lie on it.

You like to focus the debate on the esoteric. Dr Muhammad is “alleged” to have cheated in the M Sc. If the cheating had been proven te GMC would have called him a cheat straight away on their web-site. The GMC would not spare the chance to defame a Muslim Asian doctor on their web-site by substituting the claim that he was caught cheatig for what it says now that he was alleged to have cheated. The fact that they can only say that Dr Muhammad is alleged to have cheated means that the M Sc provider tried to frame Dr Muhammad, failed and consequently the M Sc provider asked the GMC to implicate him in a false case. Since M Sc teaching is usually modular nowadays, chances are that the accusation is baseless except that it has been lapped up by the GMC's racist clerks. Now the GMC's kangaroo court will find Dr Muhammad guilty on a balance of racist probabilities. This is quite a contrast with the white doctors facing the GMC this month namely:

Now may be their convictions are unsafe and I do not mean to make fun of them here but they are still convictions in a criminal court beyond reasonable doubt. Do you not see the difference between a criminal conviction and an allegation of academic misconduct? The GMC only acts against white doctors in the post-Shipman era to pretend to adhere to public safety. I am not saying that drink driving and cocaine possession are the worst crimes one can commit but there is no comparison between convictions and a failed allegation of cheating which has been passed to the GMC only in bad faith and because with the given evidence the M Sc provider could not find Dr Muhammad guilty. The main problem is the “conviction” in your mind that if Dr Muhammad is alleged to have cheated then he is guilty already. Do you have the insight to see your own biases? Or can all you do is be hypocritical?

Oh not at all. In fact you referred to it in your earlier comment as an “opportunity”. So how is it that only ethnic minority doctors are forced to avail this opportunity? Why do white Staff Grades (if there are any) not avail this opportunity? How about Consultants? Should they be stripped of their posts until they have completed an M Sc?

So the doctor's intelligence is not proven because it is “alleged” in your opinion. How is his alleged cheating proven to you already? Even the GMC has never said that Dr Muhammad cheated. What is he is answering is a mere allegation because the GMC's own investigation has been unable to frame him.

You think by telling a big enough lie, for a long enough time, in a slow enough drawl you will prove me wrong or establish Dr Muhammad's guilt before the GMC panel. It is amusing how you fantasize and gloat about his guilt which the GMC investigation has not established.

All Asians are dishonest and liars . Why do you not say ? Can you fail to register the fact that the doctor is merely alleged to have cheated? Those who made the allegation before referring him to the GMC could not prove that he had cheated. This means that their case against him collapsed. Then the GMC investigated him. That too proved his innocence. Now the GMC are extracting a confession from him to prove the false allegation which they cannot without forcing him to self-incriminate. If Dr Muhammad had been proved to have cheated by the M Sc provider and the GMC investigation after referral the GMC press release about the proposed hearing would have read something like “ he was caught/found cheating...” . Instead the GMC press release says “ The Panel will inquire into an allegation that Dr Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, a Staff Grade Doctor, cheated during an MSc examination” . Do you see the difference?
If Dr Muhammad was indeed guilty the GMC would have said so on their web-site because by the GMC's own propaganda policies and presumptions of guilt the victim is ideal for receiving bad press---he is a Staff- Grade, was trying to advance his career and has Muhammad in his name.
On the other hand, even you, the GMC critic, have not just passed judgment on Dr Muhammad already but also proceed to lecture me with metaphors which is offensive. I am absolutely appalled by your innate prejudices and by your insinuation that I am an accessory to the cheating which I am not. How can I want to converse with you when you cannot even see your own unfairness let alone the GMC's ? You think by talking more (and more) racism in Margaret Thatcher's English you have won the argument? Or you you think we will give in to your shock, awe and hysterical reactions to a mere allegation of cheating?
Why don't you reserve your hate- speeches and prophetic pronouncements about lesser human beings being guilty unless proven innocent for Sarah Palin's rallies when she runs in 2012? I think you match her mental level too. You have already done enough damage to Dr Muhammad's case with your comments here. May be it will make you happy when the GMC kangaroo court takes “indicative sanctions guidance” for his hearing from your words of wisdom?
