Intellectual killing by Dr Jane BartonUnknown to the vast majority of the world, the General Medical Council is currently deliberating over UK's new Dr Harold Shipman. This lady is known to the world as Professor Christopher Bulstrode's sister, Dr Jane Barton. Both are Oxford Graduates. The good thing about being an Oxford Graduate is that you can walk into any job known to man no matter what kind of killing ideas you harbour. There is a uncomfortable silence in the British Media in relation to this case. It should be headline news in all newspapers but it isn't. It is a relatively quiet affair where the GMC have denied public access to many of their discussions and deliberations.
To recap, when I told the General Medical Council in the year 2000 that there was a serious problem with diamorphone overuse in the United Kingdom, they decided to conduct a "discreet inquiry into me". When Jane Barton handy work with diamorphine was presented to them by families in Gosport UK, the General Medical Council threw the complaints out in 2002. The GMC has been in complete and utter denial for sometime now until the families achieved a positive inquest result. They assume that doctors don't notice or that this will be nicely swept under the carpet.
Of course, I have acutely noticed how the GMC have punished my friends because they spoke out of turn or because they did not follow the Etonian or Oxfordian path of etiquette. This is the problem with upper class English snobbery. They assume they are better than the rest of the world when in reality we can find better people with more integrity on the floors of Howrah Station. I trust the GMC is paying attention here as this comment is directed right at them.
The organization is unfit to regulate and has been for a while. The reason it continues to regulate is because the British doctors are rather spineless creatures. They will watch, discuss in the confines of their own privacy but say very little in public.

The GMC are desperate to shut this down
Ken Hobbs "safe pair of hands" ie won't rock the boat. And some boat.
It is impossible to know whether Jane Barton is the next Shipman or not, because no one will look at her performance in other areas of work.
I have requested her prescription data and a record of the death certificates that she has signed in the community - neither are avaiable, because for the purposes of shutting down this investigation, they are considered "personal data"
Britain is more corrupt than Haiti and Gordon Brown is the New Mugagbe.
I suggest that the relatives of her "victims" in Gosport look more widely into her practice and link up with people who had relatives treated by her in the community. This cannot be done by outsiders. I will write to Dame Janet Smith and ask her what she suggests as the next step
It is my belief that the local group needs to step up their action.

There is more than one Shipman out there
The GMC namely |Stephen Farnworth asst reguistrar promoted for inefficiency and losing evidence, good job I have copies , 'lost' evidence of a dr prescribing an inappropriate dose of liquid morphine for my 89 year old aunt for 'non medical reasons'.
Another dr called Kushlani Irwin prescribed 60 mgms of Morphine suplhate plus co codamol on top of the Oramorph.
Why prescribe co codamol on top of the morphine especially when the patient was vomiting?
Does anyone out there know?
