IF

I recently sent the above to a good friend of mine who isn't feeling great. I first read this when I was 10 years old and it stuck in my mind during all the times that have been difficult. Difficulties are really only a state of mind. Once you have got over that, everything is really simple. The key is to do all tasks in life with the utmost integrity. If you work hard enough on a path of honesty, the answers will soon be yours. Even if they do not appear all at once, you will have paved the way for those after you. That is every person's legacy.

Hi Rita,

What fun hearing Kipling reading it himself. It is awfully public school & stiff upper lip.

Personally, I have never had the slightest desire to be a man; hence my feminist rebellion at Radley College on November 5th 1982which involved wearing make-up, courtshoes and an awful pleated skirt in my study whilst listening to - most appropriately - Dire Straits 'Love over Gold' about a girl on the edge - before the attack by Dr Khoosal.

As the Radley authorities made an attempt to close ranks and would not release paperwork from the Warneford, I complained on utube. In the last couple of days the boys have found it and it has had nearly 250 hits. I am having fun imagining what is going there and wondering if the staff are keeping their heads. "Take your comment down Boy!" Little boys and their tools - it brings it all back ..

They have acknowledged receipt of all the evidence on CD and agreed to release the paperwork :

Rather than Kipling my favourite inspiration is the film 'If' 1968 and this scene in particular.

As Dr No has recently commented, maybe it is a good thing they didn't give me any ammo with that Bren gun!
