Dangerworld

GMC Panelists.
Its just a Gamble

So here we are, year two since the new draconian GMC procedures have been in force. More of my friends are being tied down by the General Medical Council. This week saw Sarah Myhill fighting for her registration. Dr Helen Bright is due for a review hearing. The GMC decided that they would add some documentation formatted by the resident blogsphere's oddball. This documentation went though no vetting procedures. The same happened to Myhill. Complainants are not vetted, the factual elements not analyzed and the upshot is that it is free season to complain about anything and everything to the GMC. So if your dog is not fed by a doctor, complain to the GMC, if the plants haven't been cleared in the garden, contact the GMC. If the doctor doesn't do what you want them to, complain to the GMC. So there we go, its a good season for complaints by serial nutters.

In a few weeks time Dr India will be fighting for his registration at a hearing. Dr Pakistan remains on a 18 month suspension and soon there will be a large tent outside the GMC Headquarters due to the large levels of doctors being prosecuted for errm "nothing particularly". My webmaster told me recently that if I did Mastermind on the subject of the General Medical Council, I would probably win. This is possibly because I believe in collecting data on the GMC. It is simply a hobby. This hobby is taking quite a nasty turn as I discover more and more about the functioning of the GMC. Their assessments are now illogical, Interim Order Panels are being abused and the GMC have no feedback mechanism to improve themselves.

I can't help noticing that one friend after another keeps being dropped into the GMC. The investigations are pointless. There was a point where no one was at the GMC. Now, two mothers have died and admitted to their sons that the GMC had a lot to do with their demise. The stress caused to them drove them to their graves. I suppose the world thinks its funny to have unemployed innocent doctors because complainants think its good fun just to use the GMC as a instrument of harassment.

Sure I am relieved, I don't have to face the GMC anymore. The fate of my friends does concern me and does upset me. And there is no point saying all this is none of my business. It is my business and if England was half decent, everyone would lend a hand to assist. Sadly few people do. Some just crow about being a True Brit but when push comes to shove they quickly conceal themselves under their duvet.
