Here's Laughing At You Dave. Over the weekend, I had a long think about the newspaper The Sentinel. I refer to this blog post I wrote sometime ago.
It amused me somewhat that Dave Blackhurst's pet subject - the Henshall case bombed at the General Medical Council. The transcripts show David Southall's barrister referring to Debbie Henshall as a " liar". The panel made a finding of no dishonesty but those with eyes will know the truth.
Dave Blackshurst has been on this case's trail since the year 1992. Over the years, Dave has propagated fictional news, sought to vilify and defame all the doctors [ Southall et al]. I still recalls the fact that he told me that he was only interested in featuring David Southall/Henshall issues and not material regarding the death of acutely ill people. "Who is interested in a junior doctor". Shame this particular junior doctor had the evidence and got the ward shut down while Dave continued his wild goose chase against the three paediatricians.
Yes, Dave backed the wrong horse. Having placed all his bets on the Henshall case, he was looking rather silly this weekend. I laughed at him anyway. Everyone laughed at him.
The GMC cleared the doctors.
I would though like to tell Blackhurst this - there are some of us with the evidence and bona fide reports, there are others with fictional accounts - it is the fictional accounts backed by Dave Blackhurst. Can we trust his journalism? That is the question we must ask ourselves? Is the editor of the Sentinel going to fire Dave? Of course, not. That's because journalists have no accountability in the grand scale of the world. They can write complete rubbish in their newspapers, slandering doctors and get away with it. They can also seek to purposely silence the deaths of an entire ward of people.Isn't that what Dave Blackhurst did?
Of course, I may have the last laugh over him. The Deaths of Patients overlooked by the Sentinel is of course no laughing matter.
No doubt he will continue to back the litigation obsessive Henshall family despite the lack of evidence to back up their case. Let him do that while Prof Rod Griffiths is back at the General Medical Council. Dave Blackshurst with his mates Brian Morgan and Ian Syme et al can try all they like. It is time they realised that only the truth wins and the truth is not on their side.
