NHS Exposed [that website that everyone talks about but no one writes about] exists in cyberspace. Unlike other publications, it is a working website. By this, I mean, it functions to assist those who have no where else to turn to. Over the years, it has assisted doctors, patients and other people from all walks of life. Last year, Lisa Blakemore Brown, a famous psychologist came to us for help. After that, we assisted PACA and David Southall. Lisa Blakemore Brown's fortune turned and she was cleared. David Southall has been cleared so far. All groups have been cleared after many years. Of course, what we do behind the scenes is top secret but nevertheless it is effective. Out of all these people who we have helped and who have gone onto success, few have the courage to publicly thank us. In fact, one of the traits of people we do assist, is that they disappear into their lives and we never see them again.
Through the above and in supporting Lisa Blakemore Brown, I lost my job, I was subjected to a GMC investigation and have court challenges due. During that time, I effected the take down of msbp.com - a website which initially commenced with good intentions but in the end became a rogue website where doctors were placed at risk. Mothers were being recruited to Scientology and the police took no action. For about 10 years no defence union had managed challenge to it. Julie Patrick though, a wonderful lady listened to reason and removed the forum section of the website. My only regret here was that I never actually got to speak to Julie to thank her personally for her kindness.
During this time of strife, and devastation to all concerned, the only light in the darkness was Christina England. Christina has been an ardent supporter of Lisa Blakemore Brown. She has though been a rock of strength to me. All the above was possible for us only with her support on a day to day basis. I always find that times of strife and trouble show us who the genuine people are in our lives. The kindness drops unexpectedly. In the hours and days of work we had done for PACA and David Southall, the only return we received was coldness and judgments. Christina England though was different. Out of everyone, she was the only drop of kindness in this traumatic journey.
In the end, both Blakemore Brown and David Southall were divas, a sort of expectation that their entourage will assist them without question. David told me recently that he would acknowledge me publicly when the time is right. This amused me somewhat. We only hear that from people in the media spin. We could all be dead tomorrow and no one could care what happened yesterday. I told David that the boat had passed a long time ago. As I explained, his entourage walked passed me in 1998 when I was a junior doctor. They pushed me to one side and dropped all my blood forms without a care in the world. The behaviour hasn't changed. Not really. People are strange creatures aren't they. They never cease to amaze me. I suspect one of the problems with being a victim is that they become self centred and tunnel visioned. Only those who have walked passed the victim stage can redevelop themselves as genuine human beings.
Out of this entire episode, it was only Christina England who turned out to be the real person. The person with the heart and the person with the mind. She wasn't a professor, she wasn't a psychologist but despite her troubles, she has always thought of others and that is what makes her the most special lady out of them all. The irony out of all this was that despite hours, days, huge levels of paperwork to assist the above, it was only Christina England who turned back to check whether I had fallen or not.
I was ploughing through my huge level of post and found a book today. Christina England had finally got published. During the devastation above, she had written a beautiful story about her life and the US Project accepted it for publication. It was of course entirely my fault for coaxing her to write it but amongst all the dry material I have read in the world, be it research papers or books, Christina England's writing was a beautiful example of the material produced by a real person. There are times, even I lose faith in mankind. Christina England though makes a difference in restoring faith in people. That is the power in the material she writes. I don't normally publish compliments or the cards received. I have them in a shell chest in my room. It would be slightly pretentious to parade them all around. I felt though the above inscription on the book containing Christina's story was poignant and meant a great deal. I also think this was the perfect end to a year long journey to free those who were wrongly caught in an unjust system. In the end, it was Christina England who was the only one worth fighting for but we had never fought for her. She had fought for us.
