I felt it was worth featuring the main judgments/decisions etc related to David Southall. The best write up for this piece is written by B Campbell. Unlike other journalists, B knows how to kick it. Unfortunately, the main campaigner against Mellor isn't doing well really. Having lost her original complaint against Panorama [Of Com] [ see page 138] her feathers appear to be flapping full time. It will of course infuriate her further to know that Ofcom did most of their research on our websites. The rest of us can quietly watch the war between Mellor and Southall unfold. Southall appears to be winning and Mellor appears to be losing. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.
Sadly, the rest on appeal judgment isn't perfect. If the GMC wanted to string up David, then they needed some better cases than that of Mandy Morris et al [ directed by Mellor]. We all knew that and pointed it out in bright headlights to the GMC some years ago. The GMC of course doesn't listen.
In the days I backed Southall, I was always attacked and told I was backing the wrong case. Well, as the GMC will now understand - it was never the wrong case. I may not agree with Southall on everything but I knew the GMC's verdict was unsafe. Some people say that Southall doesn't deserve a fair trial and that anything will do to strike him off. Of course, anything won't do. And now we have the courts agreeing with me. I shouldn't gloat about these things really. The best issue out of this was that I managed to effect the removal of msbp.com to protect various people who were being taken advantage of. I did play a part in all this albeit in the background. Some elements had to be done in a war involving the internet. Details are listed in the links below. I have reopened the original website that details the war. While Mellor was always great fun writing about, she failed to understand what was happening to her at the time. Some things are indeed part of a long term plan.
The case at present will go back to the GMC. The GMC will find some excuse to strike David off again and he will be back to the courts. We could go round this circle for years. The better ruling for the appeal court should have been to simply quash the original verdict and leave it at that. Anyhow, life is never perfect.
Mellor should understand one issue, while I may not like her, may not approve of her Labour Party, Scientology and other connections, I think she is a excellent character to write about. Indeed, I have probably written some good parody due to her reactions and quirks. As I have always said, if she turned her mind away from David Southall and to the books, she would fine tune her ability to be of service to more worthy causes. Southall is much like a vampire to Mellor - he keeps rising and each time he rises, he becomes more powerful.
There is only one winner in this war.
