Mark Macaskill. A Tiger Prawn!

Mark Macaskill Sunday Times Scotland. Prawn Behaviour

Witchdoctor reports that there is no mention of the London or Highland Deanery in the Scottish Sunday Times.

"The message she sends is that there was no mention of The Highland Deanery or a suspended junior doctor"

This is disturbing.

Breaking promises are we again Mark? Tut Tut. Clearly, promises are made, interviews are taken and the story dropped last minute? Is this press gagging or wasn't it exciting enough to have Dr Sean Connery back in his job?

There was a promise made by the Sunday Times reporters [2000] [
Jon Ungoed-Thomas and Mark Macaskill]
" Rita, don't worry, we promise to do a follow up".
8 years on and the promise has still not been kept. Perhaps I should call Mark a lying git. I have wanted to for years and years. What was it he told NHS Exposed

"Thanks for that. I would stress that I'm interested in the freedom of speech angle and would be happy to maintain the doctor's anonymity in any article we publish. I'd be grateful if you could relay this to the doctor in question"

Yeah right. Free speech eh. This is the Sunday Times who regularly colludes with the GMC :).

"
Dr Makkar was entrapped by two freelance Journalists, Paul Samrai and Ajit Singh Khokhar, in 2001, and a meeting taped and, subsequently by Jon Ungoed-Thomas, staff reporter with the Sunday Times, also in 2001, when the “meeting was covertly recorded”. The tape recordings yielded two different transcripts. The first recording was in Punjabi and translated by Samrai. The tapes, for what they were worth, were used in evidence by the GMC. Makkar was found guilty of SPM and his name erased, probably permanently, from the Register"

Will the Sunday Times be with me in my judicial review full hearing later this year? Of course not. Far too high brow to entertain a low brow whistleblower :). We can just see Lois turning her proverbial nose up at the story. Lois Rogers by the way thinks of herself as a clever old Sunday Times journalist. In truth, she understands very little about medicine. She may have a posh totty accent but her brain power is considerably poor when it comes to understanding the finer issues in medicopolitics. A period on the phone with her was enough to leave me completely gobsmacked.

Journalists follow this rule

1. They don't have to behave well
2. They can behave really really badly and they don't care.
3. They hold doctors to account by the media. No one holds them accountable
4. They do not have an ounce of integrity themselves.
5. They make and break promises as if it doesn't matter to the real world.
6. You just have to talk to Mark's colleagues in London, the snotty Lois Rogers and Jon Ungoed Thomas to understand how snobbish they really are. Here is Lois Rogers who purports to understand medical law and medicine but understands sweet FA.

Why do I write with such venom against reporters - because legions of them have used me for their stories, promised doctors/patients that their stories will be covered, lifted information from our website, promised me features and none of them have kept their word. In my world, only the Sunday Mercury Midlands has ever kept their word and even if it is a smaller paper - it has the integrity that all these supposed high brow papers do not have. This is why they are the only paper I have ever had any time for. I don't even have time for Panorama anymore. If we all relied on reporters to fight for doctors rights, we could be waiting until hell freezes over.
Most papers are spun by the government. The Virgin Whistleblower is finding that out slowly but surely.

If Mark has not published the story, Dr Rant and team should ask for a deletion of any data provided to him. I hope Dr Rant did not identify himself as the GMC et al have been looking for him for while.
