It has never been easy walking the tightrope and hoping there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Witchdoctor says
"She walks a tightrope that few can walk. But I think she has trained herself to balance and she knows exactly what she is doing"
The answer is " Yes, I have" :). I don't suffer fools gladly, I don't respect people who abuse their power. I don't like injustice, I don't like the oppression that exists in the medical profession. I have never accepted the fact that the seniors in this profession have trampled over my freedom of expression as well as that of other doctors. I have also never accepted the fact that many more seniors have watched while my rights have been violated. In fact they all watch while others rights are violated.
Everything I write is always evidence based. In addition, I have never feared fighting for the right to say what I do - in any court in the land. If any defence union is up to the challenge, they can be assured that I will have read all the law books ready for the fight.
The wrong pigs may well take over the sty, if left unchallenged. That is my fear. It is also a fact that many juniors fall by the wayside needlessly due to lack of proper direction and support. That is not due to their failures but due to the catastrophic failure of the seniors in the profession.
So, we can do this the easy way or we can do it the hard way [directed at his Dean]. Which way is it going to be Liz et al? This suspension needs to be lifted or this issue is going to spiral out of control. It would amuse me a great deal to have the UN knocking at the door of the Deanery.
Jobbing doctor has the tale here.
Dame Carol Black should think very carefully about supporting this suspension. It doesn't look good for a GMC Committee member who has the highest honour [from Her Majesty The Queen] to be engaging in suppression of free speech and criticism. Is this totalitarian behaviour?
By now, the Scottish SpR would have been silenced from speaking out. He probably is watching his ps and qs while everyone else decides his future for him. He will no doubt feel defenceless as the BMA and his defence union may well be helpful initially but will probably stand on the side lines and watch. Isn't that what defence unions do? When has any defence union stood up for my right to free speech? They may well force him to apologise. That is what the authorities do.
For the sake of my own sense of humour, I am going to call our Scottish SpR Dr Sean Connery. That isn't his real name by the way. Sean hasn't responded to my email. Alas, and I thought it was going to be my week to receive a email from a dashing Scottish surgeon. That though is what I predicted. He is probably in fear of what will happen next. He is probably too fearful to email me. We call this the victim effect.
Elizabeth Paice knows that very well. Afterall, she created me by her own actions. Let's see which defence union she sends in my direction?! :)
