9/10 NHS Managers prefer terrorists to whistleblowers.

"Dr. Mohammed Asha, a 26-year-old Jordanian, was also arrested Saturday on the M6 highway near Sandbach in northwest England. Asha studied medicine in Jordan, graduating in 2004. He gained a limited registration that allowed him to work in the U.K. under supervision. Asha moved to England in 2005 with his wife to specialize in neurology and took up employment at the North Staffordshire Hospital. A resident of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Asha is now in custody at Paddington Green police station in London. Police have a warrant to hold him until Saturday, July 7" ABC News

Dr Asha was a user of the UK Doctors Only Premier Website. Threads were pulled off line and doctors were silenced on protesting about this man. They are still silenced. For avoidance of doubt, I am banned for my critical views on the NHS. Dr Asha though was a regular user until his arrest.

Dr Asha was the "brilliant neurologist" head hunted by North Staffordshire NHS Trust. Wasn't that sweet of them. So, I decided today that I was going to detail what our "brilliant neurologist" [ who is currently not on the specialist register and was never on it] did in Stoke on Trent.

North Staffordshire NHS Trust remain silent on this issue. They remain silent because they don't want to talk about how many of their patients were treated by a potential terrorist. They don't want to check their records nor do they want to entertain the idea on what equipment was stolen from the hospital for the alleged terror act.

I see that North Staffordshire NHS Trust didn't take the time to frame their precious little neurologist as they did their whistleblower. North Staffordshire NHS Trust is also of the view that we are going to forget about the fact that this alleged terrorist worked at North Staffordshire NHS Trust for quite sometime. We are also supposed to forget that the General Medical Council "missed" this during their checks. Well, this is what happens when you side line British qualified doctors like myself in favour of foreign qualified doctors who are alleged terrorists. Its no use the BMA and Edwin Borman harping on about overseas doctors. If they spent enough time harping on about MMC doctors and whistleblowers, perhaps this mess would not have happened. Borman though is reckless with his ideas. He is reckless in his failing ability to recognise that in this day and age of terrorism, the NHS does not have adequate checks to protect the public. The Times did a good summary of the checks that should have been carried out. There has to be a better way of vetting doctors from abroad. Edwin Borman's campaign to bring in foreign doctors has now backfired bigtime.

So lets examine what Dr Asha, the trusted North Staffordshire NHS Trust's "brilliant neurologist" had to say for himself.

The Trial opened with this

'Both these men are doctors who turned their attention away from the treatment of illness to the planning of wholesale murder.'' So said the QC who opened the case today against Bilal Abdullah and Mohammad Asha.

So lets take a look at the Daily Mail who reports on the trial.

"Shortly before being arrested, surveillance teams filmed Asha 'furtively' looking around as he dumped a binliner in a wheelie bin outside PAKS supermarket near his home in Stoke.

It contained burned and damp material, including addresses of Islamic websites.

Asha was also secretly filmed dumping bags in an Asda store's recycling containers - they contained various Arabic documents and smashed rewritable CDs."

Jonathan Laidlaw QC, prosecuting, said a police search of Asha's home found 'material which demonstrates that Asha follows or adheres to the extreme form of religious and political ideology which provides the motivation for those involved in this sort of murderous planning'.

Among the items found were a picture of Osama bin Laden across images of the Star of David and a map of the United States with a dagger through and a caption in Arabic: 'We are coming no matter how long it takes.'

Another document in Arabic was entitled, 'The nineteen heroes who broke America's nose and dragged it to the ground' - a clear reference, said Mr Laidlaw, to the 9/11 hijackers.

He told the jury one CD contained 'video clips showing extreme Islamist violence

In the aftermath of the failed London attack, Prosecutor Jonathan Laidlaw QC said Abdulla and Ahmed met Asha, aged 28, of Sunningdale Grove, Chesterton, at the North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary as they returned to Scotland.

He said CCTV footage showed the doctor leaving the hospital shortly before 6pm following a series of calls from Abdulla's mobile.

So lets recap, while the MMC doctors were unemployed, the NHS hired these foreign doctors. These foreign doctors used a doctors only website. They used North Staffordshire NHS Trust as their meeting place. They used the hospital as their secret cell. No one now asks the question - how is this going to be prevented? Of course, it won't be prevented - just hidden. A political hot potato and a race relations hotter potato. The terror threats are increasing, the NHS is insecure, we are having a financial catastrophy that may or may not have anything to do with terrorism - and the NHS senior doctors are being politically correct about the entire issue. Great! That is all we need - more articles in the Lancet about how great we are in employing foreign doctors. How about making life better for British qualified doctors?

This just goes to show how pathetic the checks are at the General Medical Council and at North Staffordshire NHS Trust. They are currently both in denial, hoping these issues will blow over. Of course, these issues will not blow over. There is no doubt that North Staffordshire NHS Trust haboured a potential terrorist. West Midlands Deanery :) and North Staffordshire NHS Trust failed miserably to spot the obvious clues.

Of course, I want to know what the General Medical Council are doing :). Any kind of hearing due there yet? No of course not. Instead of catching terrorists the GMC catches whistleblowers and David Southall.

Note - Osama Bin Liner was spotted at North Staffordshire NHS Trust. Sporting a tea towel on his head, he attended an interview for the new F1 doctors. He was welcomed by North Staffordshire NHS Trust whose checks included a cursory view of the horizon on their local camel. For some junior doctors it had often been impossible to tell the difference between the chief executive and said local camel. Some say the local camel would make a better manager.
