The London Deanery and Professor Liz Paice are advising all doctors that they should contact Public Concern at Work for support.

This is what Liz tells us all in her final comments

"Whistleblowing can be difficult but there is now a great deal of support for individuals to raise responsible concerns. The Foundation School will advise and support you. Remember you have professional and ethical responsibilities as a medical practitioner to raise concerns."

A few days ago, I discussed which side Public Concern at Worked batted on.

This is of course the sort of crummy support offered by London Deanery. Their solution for substandard care is not accountability but counselling. This is what Paice wrote

"We were all also concerned about ensuring that you were able to complete your PRHO year and were supported psychologically through a difficult time, hence the offer of counselling"

That's alright Liz because while she never bothered to get the 2001 Report out of North Staffordshire NHS Trust, I did. Liz Paice just sat in her Deanery looking pretty and offering counselling cards. I suspect, there is more to accountability than looking pretty. I find it interesting that the Deanery refers doctors to PCAW who will no doubt give them substandard advice as well. By doing so, the Deanery washes it's hands of the situation. The Deanery has never commented on Ward 87 or the Reports. Liz Paice is still deluded enough to think she was right in this issue. Of course, she wasn't right but that is because Liz likes to deny responsibility for anything she does. Following this episode in 1998 with me, she still continued to send junior doctors to North Staffordshire NHS Trust.
