Sexy Surgeon Back in Action

The Scottish SpR.
Currently Pre-Occupied With More Than One Blonde

It is true that Mark Macaskill of the Sunday Times Scotland was fishing around the web for the identity of our Scottish SpR. See exchanges listed below from SJF. SJF kindly forwarded the emails to Sean who was up in the mountains using his hands wisely on some blonde. We have no idea what happened after that until today. That is because no one keeps us in the loop as usual. It turns out that sex starved Dr Rant blurted out the entire lot to the media. Mark must have got his story. Fresh from his trough, Mark must have written a excellent narrative. Even though he is not a man of morals or integrity, at least he can write well. We can't expect too much from journalists can we. That is why Mark works for the Sunday Times. At least on this occasion, the side effects have been beneficial to the doctor. Perhaps that makes up for the piss poor way I was treated by the Sunday Times [ Mark Macaskill and Jon Ungoed Thomas].

Thankyou
Dr Rant for reminding us that we don't all have to write like well brought up upper class Haberdasher "nose in the air" girls to change the world.

Jobbing Doctor knows the lines to Macbeth, so do I. It seems that Jobbing Doctor has also been playing with witchery art. The devilishly dashing married GP writes as follows

"This is excellent news and a blast of common sense. Whatever the rights or wrongs of criticising people in the higher echelons of any profession, the actions of Professors Paice and Needham are wholly disproportionate to the perceived transgression, and dramatic actions following any criticism is the hallmark of a dictatorial organisation and is the action of weak leaders"

I couldn't agree more.

Witchdoctor has sent her "past sell by date" granny to grab a copy of the newspaper.Dr Grumble has fallen off his chair at the power of the media. Yes, Grumble the media has the power to change GMC verdicts and frequently do.

Hasn't anyone noticed, the only reason Deans or the GMC function is for the media. It is a show stopping thing. They like to look good and smile for the camera. This mode of action also shows that Paice, Black and that bint in the highlands dubbed by Dr Obi as the "Gossipy Little Despots" are rather more like three hens terrified of the mainstream media. They would have all rang up each other over the week. Afterall, what will the public think? Just goes to show that the three do not have the bottle to face the mainstream media with their stalinist actions. These are backroom girls who do things by the backdoor, by phonecalls and in response to their egos. Now their creepy actions have been front page internet news, medical media news and finally national news, they can't cope.

Finally, Mr Brainbox himself Ferret Fancier has some wise words for the world. He wisely says
"Dr Rant also remarks at just how unlikely it is that the likes of Liz Paice and her buddies will be investigated by the GMC for their cowardly acts which could be seen as a gross abuse of power by some"
Yep, that will be because there is no accountability and they all piss in the same GMC pot [ sorry for deteriorating into Dr Rant language].

Lastly, a wise comment from me. Sean's record will now be scarred with a complaint and shortlived suspension forever. That is what is known as data collection by his Trust, his Deanery and the powers that be. That will follow him around in any work he does now. Welcome to a stalinist state.

Thankyou boys - with some concerted blogger power, the issue managed to spiral to such an extent that even the 3 witches had to back down. This has amused me somewhat as Paice spends her life being a mean old bat. Liz Paice is still listing at number 1 for Nightmares and Pipedreams. Until we meet again to fight another injustice :) boys, I am off for some chocolate. That is unless Sean wants to send me a signed JPEG of him that I can pin up on my wall. I have seen his picture. That may distract me. Sean was someone worth writing for. I wish him all the best for the future. Can I advise him to curb his language on a doctors only web site and stick to the doctor's mess. In the present day, everything you say will be taken down, printed, collected and used against you by the powers that be. Make it to consultant status first then fight the world.

Hi Simon
Thanks for that. I would stress that I'm interested in the freedom of speech angle and would be happy to maintain the doctor's anonymity in any article we publish. I'd be grateful if you could relay this to the doctor in question.
Your memory is good, I did work with Rita on that story. Far from being a sore point, it was a very succesful article which provoked a lot of debate...and I'd be very interested to hear if you come across any similar cases here in Scotland,
best
Mark

Hi Mark
I have just passed your email onto the doctor concerned. It will be up to him to contact you. We cannot release personal data. You are aware of that.
If memory serves me right, you were involved in Elderly Helped to Die [Sunday Times] involving Rita. You subsequently never followed up despite your apparent promises. Are you therefore of the view that any doctor should trust you? I believe she wrote about you sometime ago in her now defunct blog http://www.ward87.blogspot.com [.http://ward87.blogspot.com/2008/05/tango-with-media.html]. You may well wish to read about the 2001 Report that verified her concerns. Or perhaps you may not be concerned with the more intellectual side of medicine :). Of course, it maybe a sore point with you.

Hi Simon
Do you happen to know the name of the junior doctor suspended over the comments posted online about Carol Black? And what exactly was said? I'm a staff writer with the Sunday Times in Glasgow and am considering covering the episode in this week's edition. I would need to contact the individual involved and your help would be appreciated,
best
Mark

Just to clarify, Dr Rant only provided information in the interview to the Sunday Times that was either (a) in the bloggosphere already, or (b) was Dr Rant's opinion on the political reasons for the suspension.

We did not reveal the identity of the doctor in question or any other confidential information.

So what happened to Macaskill then? Did he get cold feet?
