No one cared about the distress caused to me by the news that
Findus was planning on closing :). No hunky ER surgeon was there to sooth my ruffled brow. So, I had to get the second best option - a pic. Well, I had to do something, 20 hours of the idea of no pancakes. Anyhow, as Liz Miller will observe above - can't get the above species in the NHS these days. "Sigh".
I rushed to our local shop at 17.30 only to find that the man who runs it has indeed kept at least 5 boxes for me. He is a nice man. A very nice man. Nicer than the AA man. He told me he kept a stash in his stock because he knew I would need it given the GMC and I are going through a bad divorce.
That should last me a while. Phew.
Withdrawal over :)

Doctor, Doctor...
I have a prescription to assist with your withdrawals. It is a little known Scicillian dish called Crispella. Alas it will involve cooking but is well worth the effort. I learned this from a Scicillian Chef who was as tasty as his food ;-)
In short....
Cook some standard pancakes
Cook some bechemel sauce
buy some proscuitio and mozorella
get a 3cm deep round tin and put a thin layer of bechemel sauce in the bottom. add a pancake, another layer of bechemel, another pancake, more bechemel ,more pancake... you get the idea...
In one of those layers, add some finely chopped proscuitio, more bechemel, more pancake etc.
by the time you get to the top of the tin, it should be like a bechemel, pancake, lasagne. On the top layer, put some bechemel and some mozorillo cheese.
Throw the whole lot in the oven until the top is brown and crispy.
Crispella is the food of the gods! It's extremely rich but the proscuitio provides such a surprise and makes it taste awesome.
If you try it... enjoy :-)
I went to tesco
There were no Findus products on the freezer shelves, and the freezer section had contracted. I spent almost half an hour trying to find anything of value to eat in there and had to rescue the frozen peas and that was it
Frozen food sections RIP
